Papertrey Ink stamp-a-faire 2015

Did you have a nice weekend?
I sure did! I played along the Papertrey Ink's 'stamp-a-faire' challenges! Such great challenges, it was a crafty weekend, my favorite kind!!

Here are the projects that I created.
Challenge: create an all white bridal card

A sketch challenge, I was inspired by this sketch:

I created a (chaotic?!) thread nest - LOL!!

You know how I love playing with patterns and colors!! :) :)

I dusted off the sewing machine (it's been a LONG time!!) and used a stick pin!

I followed this color scheme/inspiration:

And that's that! I had a blast participating in these challenges! I wish that I had more time to complete all of the challenges, maybe next year!!!  It was great pulling out my PTI stamps that I haven't used in a LONG time, and making them 'new to me' again!
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my challenge cards, I appreciate your visit!!
Until next time...

back to school

Summer has been over here for several weeks for my kiddos, they went back to school on August 4th! But back to school time means 'play time' for many stay at home moms, am I right?! That used to be me - I remember it VERY well!!! I couldn't wait until I had uninterrupted crafty play time!! LOL
It appears that there are several current 'back to school' challenges, so I decided to create a card that pays homage to this time of year!
In addition to the theme 'back to school', other common characteristics of the challenges include the colors red, yellow, and black.
Here is my creation:

I created a chalkboard of sorts by matting black cardstock with strips of kraft cardstock. I heat embossed the enlightening sentiment from the Shine from Within collection by Reverse Confetti with white embossing powder. The rest of the card is made up of elements that supplemented the 'school' theme: the red apples which were fussy cut from patterned paper, the date sticker, the yellow stripes in the patterned paper reminded me of pencils, and I used the tattered edge paper punch on the lined school paper.
I created my card to fit into the following great challenges: Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, and Can You Case It? challenge #83 (you can also click on each image to go to challenge blogs)

I LOVED these challenges!! Can't wait to play along with additional challenges at each site!!
Thanks for stopping by today!!
until next time....

wishing you smooth sailing

Back with another card that I made for little tangles challenge #59: birthday
I LOVE Neat and Tangled's Sailmates stamp set - and used it to create my birthday card.

Super clean and simple card!  I paper pieced the sailboat, and stamped the waves on the blue chevron patterned paper and then just trimmed around the stamped wave. I also added the 'happy birthday' sentiment, I think it is a Papertrey Ink stamp.

little tangles challenge #59: birthday

Neat and Tangled just celebrated their third birthday, and they have a birthday challenge to go along with it!
And my take on the challenge.... a 'bit' of blingy gold! ;)
I created a background of gold heat embossed triangles using Neat and Tangled's Tiny Triangles background stamp. Die cut gold glitter balloons (by My Favorite Things) float on a white panel, matted with black cardstock, and a splash of black and white striped paper adds additional interest. The Let's Celebrate sentiment is from Neat and Tangled's Party Dots stamp set.

freshly made sketches - 200th sketch celebration!

Celebrating along with Freshly Made Sketches this week - as they celebrate their 200th sketch! That's a lot of sketches!!!
Here is this week's fabulous sketch #200:
What a great, clean sketch - open for lots of interpretation!!
Here is my take on it:

Simple, but bold and bright - just the way I like it! I used products from several different manufacturers here - the gorgeous premium dye inks and stitched fishtail flag dies are by My Favorite Things; the fabulous, bold sentiment stamp is from the Hand Lettered Encouragement set by Simon Says Stamp, and the flower stamps are from the Fabulous Florals set by Avery Elle.

This was a great sketch, and I had fun challenging myself to use products from multiple manufacturers on the same card :)
Thanks for the inspiration!!
until next time...

Simon Says: food and/or drink

hello hello!!
Back with another Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge card!
This week's challenge was Food and/or Drink.... and it made me realize that I do not have ANY stamps that pertain to food and/or drink! lol - might have to do a little shopping to change that!!

So, I did make do with what I have, and used my Simon Says Stamp Ice Cream Cone Parade die.
This was a fun card to design - used lots of scraps for the ice cream - just wanted to create a cheery, colorful card.
I die cut the ice cream cones from the white panel, then again from kraft paper, so they are in effect inlaid within the white panel. I die cut the ice cream from scraps of patterned paper - and the cool thing is now I have four extra of each color, so I can make four more cards just like this! Then I added the kraft cone bottoms. I layered a the white panel with yellow patterned paper and teal cardstock; tied twine around the piece; then adhered it with pop dots to the card base. The banner sentiment is by Neat and Tangled.

Thanks for the challenge Simon ;)
Until next time...
